Tarot - the Fool's Circle of Life

The Court Cards

~ Page, Knight, Queen and King ~

by Danielle Astrid Ricard

The Court Cards, part of the Minor Arcana - represent either real people, or the types of energy, responsibilities and activities represented by those people.

Princess of Wands - Cosmic Tarot

Page

The Page, or Princess in some decks, is either a messenger, child or youthful energy.

Page of Cups - The Page of Cups is a sensitive soul. This is someone who is looking within with wonder, and even some innocent narcisism. The Page of Cups can indicate a feeling of loneliness, sentimentality or deep introspection.

Page of Wands - is a messenger, an actual message, or an inquisitive, active young person - possibly flighty.

Page of Coins is either a rambunctions, active child, someone who is playful or studious, or the idea of gathering what one needs in order to grow and change.

Page of Swords is an observant person - and often indicates the idea of standing back and watching, or even spying on others (!!). "Observing the forces of power" is the phrase I always recall when I see this card.

Prince of Cups - Cosmic Tarot

Knight

The Knights are the humble servants of the King and Queen. Knights represent forces for change and action - and are generally more concerned with tending to the needs of others than with their own agenda.

Knight of Cups - is an Emotional Servant. This is one who cares about your feelings - and he/she often signifies an offer of love or union. Just imagine your lover on her/his knees, pleading soulfully for your undying love!

Knight of Coins is a Physical/Material Servant. This often represents one's actual job in life - your vocation or occupation.

Knight of Swords is an Intellectual Servant. He is the bringer of very clear messages, strong words and swift action - at the behest of those he serves, or his own interests. The Knight of Swords can be harsh and even cruel. This knight cuts to the quick! .
