How to Treat your Cancer

Your Cancer man or maiden is an especially kind and nurturing soul. Cancers are observant and empathetic. Just as the Moon fills with light from the Sun, your oceanic Cancer absorbs energy from those around her, deeply feeling their needs and desires. Your Cancer, like a warm mama, loves to fulfill you and make you comfortable. Home, food, garden, nursery, work - all become the loving charge of Cancer's love and care.

Sometimes your Cancer becomes overwhelmed with concern for others, and needs to take refuge in a protective shell to be shielded from negative influences. You may find your Cancer either hiding out or complaining sadly. It's just that he is filled to the brim with external woes, and just can't please everyone. Such a frustration!

For Cancer, the Moon who rules over his heart waxes and wanes, grows full with wild lunatic ravings and joy, and shrinks into that dark place where brooding and sulking can set in. Emotions are inconstant, but so entertaining for the lucky one who has a Cancer for a friend or partner!

The Cancer needs to feel needed. Don't hesitate to ask your Cancer for help, even if she seems downhearted. It makes her feel alive. Be sure to confide your deepest feelings and desires to your Cancer. It gives him the opportunity to be more a part of you, and strive to fulfill your happiness.

Feed your Cancer with a well stocked kitchen, room for a garden, pets, cozy decor and children. Take your Cancer to the water or ocean often. Allow your Cancer opportunities to use the deep imagination and creativity within. Be kind and patient when the Moon wreaks havoc on his moods. Make sure your Cancer has privacy when needed, and feels safe and protected. Screen his calls! Make sure her locks are secure! You will be rewarded with joyful, shining moonbeam smiles, and loving comforts of home to rival the most doting of mothers!

How to Treat your Leo

Your Leo is independent - yet family oriented; highly organized and efficient - yet demanding of others. Leo is King or Queen of the castle, and wants everyone to know it! Shining brightly through that magnificent mane is a great joy for living... a completely self-contained world of fun and creativity. Leo wants the outer world to be just as shiny as she strives to be, and will go to any lengths to achieve it.

Your Leo needs to be happy with how the world perceives him. If enough praise is not forthcoming, you will have a sulky, growly lion! Make sure you take time to compliment, heavily. And please don't criticize overtly - make sly little helpful suggestions instead. Leo is very sensitive, but bounces back easily because he can't stand unhappiness. Life is too fun, and creative opportunities too tempting for Leo to be out of the action for long.

Remember that you are part of your Sun-God or Goddess' world. Your reputation is just as important to your Leo as her own. Do your best to look good, sound dignified and make your space organized and attractive. Sweep the dirt out of public view, and don't forget to comb your hair!

Feed your Leo with joyful, sunny surroundings, the laughter of children, organized spaces and free-time to roam. Keep competition far away from your very territorial animal. Shower her with cuddly affection, your undying love and devotion, and most of all PRAISE. You will be rewarded with a glowing soul whose heart radiates with blissful devotion to your needs. Your Leo is sure to passionately love, defend and protect you. It's his job!

The Chariot in the Tarot

The Chariot in the Tarot is associated with Cancer.

~ Control ~
Look at him go! He's rounding the corner with ease! Has he won the race? Or is he just beginning, or maybe in the middle of it? This card often signifies a triumph - but no contest is ever completely won. We are constantly moving forward - there is always another goal up ahead.

The horses pulling the Chariot, one black and one white, are wild, instinctive animals. Harnessed by the skillful hand of a charioteer, their accuracy is dependent upon his poise, confidence, intelligence and strength.

As you go through the motions of life, you may sometimes ask yourself - who's driving this vessel? Is it the conscious me, is it these crazy feelings coursing through me, or could it be the untamed forces of my subconscious? Am I leading the way, or am I being led? Do I have the ultimate say in my destiny? Where the heck am I headed, anyway??!!!

It follows that this card is all about Control - over the extremes of dark and light within your soul, over base emotional reactions, and over others who might entice you away from your true path.

The symbolism in the Chariot is deceptively simple - the Charioteer is the mind and the higher self, the horses are the instincts and emotions, and the Chariot itself is the body - your vessel. Are you truly in charge of where you're going?

There is a delicate balance going on here. Obviously, the driver needs his horses to get him where he wants to go - but if he lets go of the reins or loses concentration, they could take him someplace unfamiliar, or even unpleasant.

On another level, sometimes this card means that things are moving along, or someone or something is coming your way. If such is the case, enjoy the moment - and don't forget to give those wild horses a reward!

You may sometimes experience the fantastic feeling that you have won - and the Chariot may indeed be an indication of some triumph in your life - but until the horses rest completely or the chariot breaks down, some measure of control over your life will always be required.

The Outer Planets - Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and the Lunar Nodes
~^. .^~

Uranus in Pisces! ... Uranus will stay in the Sign of the Fish 'til 2011! Spiritual Revolution you say?? Yes, that would describe it well. What can we expect with Uranus in Pisces? Perhaps our ideas about death, sacrifice, the fantastic and impossible, transcendence and service to humanity will take some dramatic and innovative turns. We can hope that humanitarianism will take on new meaning and purpose, and that service to others may become a more integral part of our social order. With this placement, Uranus can become quite reclusive or fanatical. Scientists who may have been hiding out for years in research can bring new and surprising inventions and discoveries into our midst, and Political Messiahs may come out of the woodwork. With Uranus and Neptune in mutual reception - they will rely upon each other more than usual, and herald perhaps a renewed and revolutionary (Uranus) vision for humanity (Neptune) The cost may be a certain amount of turmoil and confusion regarding just where we are going for humanity, and will probably not be without conflict.

Neptune in Aquarius (til 2012) is helping to set our expressions of love and creativity into positive, innovative motion. A change in the prevailing style in movies, fashion and art will be seen in the months and years to come - probably bringing much more in the realm of the unusual, shocking, rebellious, and inter-cultural.

Pluto is in Capricorn now until 2024. The very fabric of society may begin to be re-woven - but not before old structures are dismantled. Capricorn is about authority, success, achievement and social order. Pluto is about death and regeneration. Pluto asks us to dig deep and USE what is best in our world to create something much better. We need to avail ourselves of and share our brightest and most humanistic minds (Uranus in Pisces, Neptune in Aquarius!!), and not descend into blind destructiveness, greed or desperation.

The powerful Neptune/Pluto septile, exact on Dec 1, 2006 and Feb. 21, 2007 will last (going in and out of close orb) into 2011! For those of us who are very creative, tremendous inspiration can bring influential, explosive, mind-blowing creations. In love - the potential for making inspired changes is heightened - yet there also exists the possibility of getting lost in confusion. Avoid falling into a pit of despair, or indulging in self-destructive activities. Getting nowhere fast? Look for Creative and Healthy, Inspired, Loving outlets to save your skin! Get involved in helping others.... this is especially important now! Neptune/Pluto can bring a fanaticism wthat has not been seen since the last such aspect at the beginning of WWII. Yet - this aspect is also very positive for creating lasting, humanitarian changes throughout the world.

The North and South Nodes are now on the Aquarius/Leo axis ('til 8/21/09). This node placement brings positive connections based on love for humanity and the quest for social equality, along with healing in the area of self-love and love for loyalty's sake. This is a good time to examine our motives, use our egos wisely, and take the high road - or face karmic consequences!

Chiron in Aquarius... This archetype of human compassion will be passing nonstop through Aquarius from January 06 til Feb. 2011, bringing a period of higher inspiration in the realm of healing. We may look forward to greater cooperation worldwide in the healing sciences, and perhaps going back to tradition - those time honored ways that our ancestors enjoyed and practiced in harmony with nature. Perhaps we may find more and more "health" foods (ie unaltered and unprocessed) on our grocery shelves, greater acceptance of mind-body healing approaches, and some brave new ideas to surface, too.

Tour of the Planets!

Mewsings from Venus & Mars... July 2009

Mars is in Taurus until 7/12, bringing stubbornness yet stability and a certain calm to males. This is no time to push him in a direction he doesn't wish to go. Money matters and possessions are likely to seem more important.

Venus is also in Taurus until 7/5, adding sensuality, practicality and a heightened sense of ownership to those in established relationships. Jealousy and possessiveness can be a danger, yet this energy can help strengthen bonds and add more physicality for those who want or need it!

Venus is in Gemini from 7/6 to 8/1, and Mars is in Gemini as well, from 7/13 to 8/25, bringing a certain lightness, fun-lovingness, silliness and perhaps flightiness to relationships. This is a great time for taking short trips, socializing, and networking within your local community. As long as you keep it real, this is a great time for opening up and getting to know people better.

During the first week in July, Venus & Mars in Taurus square Neptune/Jupiter/Chiron in Aquarius, and sextile Uranus & biquintile Pluto - bringing healing realizations that if not acted on may result in frustration and disappointment. Long held beliefs may be challenged by new relationships, and existing relationships may be challenged by new beliefs! Openness and honesty will be needed to get unstuck, but if you're too open and honest, practicing some restraint may be in order.

The second week has Venus quintile Uranus -a new acquaintance or creative idea may prove irresistible.

During the third & fourth weeks,Venus trines Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron, squares Uranus and opposes Pluto.... time to contemplate your spirituality and what you give to humanity. An honest assessment of your relationships can bring you peace if you are willing to accept your limitations, and not expect too much of yourself or others.

Vital relationships may prove especially challenging as issues of power, control and sexuality can come up. Be prepared for something new, unexpected changes/endings and snap decisions. Don't leave any dangling questions - deal with it before the last of July/beginning of August, when Pluto/Moon exactly oppose Venus!

~ The Big Guys ~

Jupiter is in Aquarius til 1/18/2010. Lucky, expansive Jupiter will be crossing and re- crossing Chiron and Neptune during 2009, helping to bring us new ideas in spirituality, religious openness, tolerance and healing forms of justice.

Saturn in Virgo 'til July 21, 2010 brings our focus to the things of the earth.. the cleanliness and purity of our physical environment. These coming years can bring a stronger sense of purpose and responsibility within our social institutions, government and from authority figures regarding the sanctity and protection of our mother earth. A wonderful time this can be!! Let's make conscious guardianship of our world the central focus for all we do!
